It’s time #ToFollowJesus

God is on the move in the lives of many people, drawing to Himself thousands, who accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior during various COP events held recently. Just this last weekend, during the three days of SOLD OUT: Harvest Youth Conference 2018 with 4REAL Hawk Nelson, nearly 7,853 people gave their lives to Christ! What an awesome move indeed by the Holy Spirit!

At COP, we don’t let these new believers fumble around in their new walk with God. We lead and guide them as much we can, and one way of doing this is by encouraging them to be water baptized.

The Bible says in Acts 2:38 that water baptism is the first step of obedience to Christ. It also signifies a believer’s participation in the death and resurrection of Jesus (Romans 6:3-4), and an all-important part of our salvation (Mark 6:16).

How is water baptism done? Jesus Himself illustrated this by being totally immersed in water. In all COP campuses, there is a water tank for this purpose, where pastors baptize everyone — regardless of whether they are COP members or not — in the name of and by the authority of Jesus.

To highlight the importance of the Biblical truth about the need to be water baptized, Cathedral of Praise holds a Water Baptism Emphasis Weekend every year. This 2018, it’s happening on September 8 and 9 at the Main, South, East and North Campuses.

This is an opportune time to lead our brothers and sisters in faith to obedience to our Lord. So if you have family members and friends who have recently been saved, or even saved for some time already but are not water baptized yet, please do have them listed for the Baptism Weekend. It’s going to be a great time to be blessed and become a blessing!
